Body Harmonic’s Director of Education, Margot McKinnon, M. Ed., specializes in curriculum development. Apprentice Program at Pilates in Guelph

Body Harmonics Pilates Comprehensive Track

If you are passionate about Pilates and want to make it your career, we strongly recommend completing all levels of Pilates Comprehensive Track. We will help you become a versatile movement educator with an eye for optimal function and purposeful application that considers age and ability.

Body Harmonics Pilates Comprehensive Track includes:

  • Level 1: Mat Work – 160 hours

  • Level 2: Reformer – 270 hours

  • Level 3: Cadillac, Chair, Springboard and Barrels – 270 hours

Each program includes self-practice, practice teaching and observation labs to meet the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) international standards for Pilates Education.

At each level, when all the program requirements are fulfilled, you earn a diploma for the corresponding level. When all three levels are successfully completed, you receive a Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Diploma.

Pilates Comprehensive Track

Pilates Level 1: Mat lays the groundwork for our Pilates Comprehensive Track. Over four modules, you learn the roots of Pilates, key human movement principles and how to teach 75 mat exercises—from the Body Harmonics Foundations to the advanced Pilates Classical repertoire. Included are our cueing formula™ and progressive sequencing™ methodologies which are designed to help you teach Pilates mat sequences and classes that are accessible, adaptable and challenging.

The content in Pilates Level 1: Mat is designed to deepen your knowledge of human movement and increase your skill set so that you may apply it to teaching both in-person and online.

This private tutorial is an extra cost, and should be completed prior to re-joining the program

You will learn:

  • Explore ways of working with individual clients in one-on-one setting

  • Learn the art of versatile class design for the group machine class environment

  • Gain an understanding of primary postural assessment techniques and functional anatomy related to spine, lower and upper limbs

The self-practice component consists of practicing on a reformer—on your own or with your peers. It may also include taking Pilates mat or machine classes at the location where you are taking your program.
